Now more than ever before, energy savings, insulation and reduction of CO2 emissions are items at the top of every agenda. With the help of an infrared camera, SOLAR SCREEN® has been able to determine the degree of heat loss through glass. As a result it has also observed the significant insulation properties of its films - the SOLAR 50 C and 80 C insulating film models in particular - as well as of its shade film blinds. The latter contain a high concentration of metallic particles (to reflect heat inwardly) and do not make contact with the cold glass. Solar 80 C thermal insulation films reduce excess heat gain through glass in summer and also limit heat loss in winter. Significant savings in heating and air-conditioning costs can be made once this film is applied to windows, rapidly offsetting the initial cost of purchase and installation.
